James Edgar Adams

James Edgar Adams, age 82 of Martinsville, passed away on Monday, April 12, 2021. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Phyllis A. Chitwood. Surviving are his wife, Shelby McCrickard Adams; son, Terry and Kitty Adams; daughter, Brenda A. McBride; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Ruth Young and Mary Davis; and numerous nieces and nephews. James was a member of Boones Chapel Church of the Brethren. Funeral services will be conducted at Boones Chapel Church of the Brethren 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 15, 2021 with Pastor Mike Gallimore officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations be made to Boones Chapel Church of the Brethren Building Fund (c/o Jeremy Atkins, 16405 Snow Creek Rd, Penhook, VA 24137).
