James "J.L." Amos

James L. Amos “J.L.” age 71, of Glade Hill, passed away Tuesday September 6, 2011. He was born March 18, 1940, son of the late Harvie and Hattie Arrington Amos. He loved playing and listening to bluegrass music. He was also preceded in death by his wife Myrtle Brooks Amos. Surviving are two sons Robert and Ernest Lee Amos, two sisters; Sue LaPrade of Roanoke, Deborah Stump (Alva) of Callaway, a niece Tammy Parr. J.L. experienced a lengthy stay at Trinity Missions where he kept spirits high and enjoyed all the residents and visitors. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday September 8, 2011 at Flora Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow in the Arrington Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center Rocky Mount.
