James Elwood Hudson (Jim), age 95 of Rocky Mount, passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2007 in Franklin Memorial Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas Jefferson and Eva Davis Hudson; his wife Elvie Haseltine Altice Hudson; five brothers Raymond, Frank, Herschel, Arthur and T.J. Hudson; two sisters Beulah Thurman and Audrey Sink.
Surviving are four sons James O. and Jean Hudson, Charles E. Hudson, Tommy and Reva Hudson, Billy and Kathy Hudson; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law Velma Montgomery, Gladys Sink and Lavona Perdue; one brother-in-law Joe Sink; special friend Dorothy Angle and several nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted from Oak Hill Old German Baptist Brethren Church 10:00 a.m. Friday with the Home Brethren officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
His family will receive friends from 2:30- 4:00 p.m. and 6:00-9:00 p.m. Thursday at Flora Funeral Service.
Viewing will also take place one hour before services Friday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a favorite charity or to Carilion Hospice Services of Franklin County, 180 Floyd Ave, Rocky Mount, VA 24151.
