James Mccoy Farris

James McCoy Farris, age 76 of Rocky Mount went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 16, 2015. He was born November 17, 1938 and was preceded in death by his father, James Edward Farris, Sr.; mother, Elsie Lee Altice; and grandson, Chad Evan English. Surviving are his wife, Annie Farris; daughters, Wanda English (Terry), Gloria Blankenship (Rocky); sons, Edward Farris, Terry Farris (Susan), Jerry Farris; grandchildren, T.J. Farris (Jessica), Jamie Farris, Savannah Farris, Tyler Blankenship; brothers and sisters, Don Farris, Carl Farris, Janice Martin, Mary Johnson, Yvonne Rippeon, Jackie Kellam; special friends and caregivers, Marsha Dent, Denise Overton, Elizabeth Boyle; many other family members and friends. Special thanks to Carilion Hospice of Franklin County for their care and concern. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Friday with Rev. John Collins officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Free Clinic of Franklin County. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
