James Albert Gearhart

James Albert Gearhart, age 78 of Rocky Mount passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at Red Oak Manor. He was born April 16, 1944 a son of the late Clifton and Rosa Hodges Gearhart. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Wright; and brothers, Wayne Gearhart, Russell Gearhart and David Gearhart. Mr. Gearhart was a Sharp Shooter in the United States Army, 1 ^st Battalion, 4 ^th Infantry. He retired from his work as an Autobody Technician. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, the outdoors, NASCAR and was a doting grandfather. Surviving are his daughters, Keri Wimmer of Rocky Mount, Alisha Crosier (Mark) of Roanoke, Lorin Honeycutt of Snow Creek; grandchildren, Gabriel Wimmer of Rocky Mount, Destinee Honeycutt and Ben Honeycutt of Snow Creek, Kaleb Crosier of Roanoke; friend, Ruth Gearhart; sister, Betty Ferguson (Ronnie) of Ferrum; brothers, Harold Gearhart (Mary) of North Carolina, Barry Gearhart (Anne) of Callaway; numerous nieces and nephews; and special cousin, Helen Nichols. A private memorial service is being planned for a later date. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
