James Richard “Jim” Jamison, age 72 of Henry passed away Friday, November 23, 2007.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents Joe B. and Ella Jamison; son Lyle Kenneth Jamison.
He retired after 20 years from the Navy as an E-8 Senior Chief Sonar Technician in the submarine service in 1973. After retirement he was owner and operator of Spinning Wheel Antiques. He was a member of Henry Baptist Church.
Survivors include sons Craig Jamison and wife Sara of Henry, Edward Jamison and wife Emily of Henry; grandchildren Kymberly, Taylor and Hayden; brothers Joe Ben and wife Joyce Ann of Callaway; Jerry and wife Sandra of Georgia, and Charles and wife Gay of Boones Mill; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 11:00 a.m. Monday with Rev. Maynard Plaster officiating. Interment will follow in the Helms Family Cemetery with military honors.
His family will be receiving friends from 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Flora Funeral Service, Rocky Mount and at other times at the home of Ed and Emily Jamison in Henry.
