James Lewis Myers, age 82 of Callaway went to be with his Lord and soul mate on Saturday, March 17, 2007.
Mr. Myers was born October 7, 1924 a son of the late John Lewis and Irene Crowder Myers. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and will be missed very much. He was preceded in death by his wife Frances Myers; a son, James Linford Myers; and one grandson, Brad Myers.
Surviving are his children and their spouses, Peggy and Clarence Marsden, Steven and Deborah Myers, Richard and Teresa Gail Myers, Gerald Lee, Sr. and Arlene Myers, Kaye and Rodney Sigmon; his grandchildren, Larry Sink, Jr., Melissa Cervone, Billy Kidd, Jimmy Kidd, Renee and Blaine Compton, Melissa and Mark Jones, James, Jr. and Cinimon Myers, Crystal and David Hockenbery, Brandy and Donald Thompson, Jennifer Rigney, Ashley Elizabeth Myers, Sherry Myers and special friend Casey McBride, Amy Nicole Myers and special friend Henry Hall, Gerald Lee, Jr. and Bonnie Myers, Jessica Myers and special friend David Furr, Heather Cook and special friend Patrick Clyde, Chris Fitzgerald and special friend Melissa Kelley and Mackenzie Sigmon; 23 great-grandchildren; and sister, Maye Dooley.
Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Tuesday with Pastor Bob Andrews and Rev. Mitch Nichols officiating. Interment will follow in the Sigmon-Myers Family Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia Society, Hampton Branch, 27 West Queens Way, Suite 301, Hampton, VA 23669.
His family will be receiving friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Monday at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount, VA.
