James A. Parcell

James Alfred “Jimmy” Parcell, age 76 of Rocky Mount, passed away Sunday February 17, 2008. He was born May 19, 1931, a son of the late A.L. and Roxie Bowles Parcell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Wayne Parcell; grandson Brian Reynolds; and five brothers. Surviving are one son James Michael Parcell; daughter and son-in-law Diane and Larry Reynolds; three grandchildren Angela and Chad Davis, Crystal Parcell-Stockton, Jamie Parcell; two great-grandchildren Aleah Jade Davis, Siani Lee Stockton; sister Bernice Whitlow; brother and sister-in-law Melvin and Mae Parcell; sister-in-law Joan Parcell; several nieces and nephews; and caretaker Bonnie P. Thompson. In lieu of flowers, his family asks that donations be made to Carilion Hospice Services of Franklin County, 390 South Main St., Rocky Mount, VA 24151 or to Forrest Hill Christian Church Cemetery Fund, 13185 Snow Creek Rd., Penhook, VA 24137. Graveside services will be conducted from Forrest Hill Christian Church Cemetery 2:00 p.m. Wednesday with Minister Lee Ashley officiating. Friends may call after 3:00 p.m. Tuesday with his family receiving friends from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service and other times at the home of Diane and Larry Reynolds.
