James Perry Brown

Perry Brown, age 73 of Glade Hill, passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2013. He was born son of the late William Curtis and Sallie Kate Brown on September 2, 1940. Perry was 1 of 15 children including 5 sets of twins. He is survived by his wife, Margaret P. Brown of 47 years; daughter, Pamela B. Hodges; son-in-law, Sonny Hodges and granddaughter Casey; son, Daniel Brown; daughter-in-law, Christine A. Brown; grandchildren, Garrison, Kenley and Lawson. Also, he is survived by his twin brother, Paul W. Brown and wife, Mary Alice Brown; sister, Christine Pendleton; brother, Ruben Brown and wife Jean Brown; sister, Ruth Sigmon and late husband, Wayne Sigmon; sister, Ann Agee and husband Richard Agee; sister, Sue Sigmon and husband Harold "Nicky" Sigmon; brother, Jimmy Brown and wife Janice Brown; sister, Patsy Belcher and husband Frankie Belcher; brother, Jewell Brown and wife Sheila Brown. His siblings preceded in death are sister, Elva Kirby and living husband Jack Kirby; sister, Melva Pendleton and husband Jake Pendleton; sister, Kitty Beale and husband Luther Beale; brother, J.C. Brown and living Mary Jefferson; and infant brother baby Brown. Surviving nieces and nephews are Wanda Gayle, Jackie, Susan, Charlie, Doug, Sandy, W.C., Roger, Phyllis, Joey, Marque, Mike (deceased), Jerry, Scott, Derek, Kevin, Nicole, Patrick, Justin, Angela, Jewell Jr. and Tina. The family would like to express their deep appreciation to family friend Lisa Whitlock and to Amedisy?s Hospice of Salem; Nurses Kim, Cindy and CNA Sarah and to the staff at Lewis Gale Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at Flora Funeral Chapel 11 a.m. Saturday, September 21st, 2013 with Elder Jesse Hutchins, Elder Laray Smith, and Elder Paul Clark officiating. Interment will follow in Antioch Church of the Brethren Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday 5-8pm September 20, 2013 at Flora Funeral Home.
