Ray Rickmond

Ray Rickmond, age 71 of Rocky Mount died Tuesday, December 23, 2025. He was born June 7, 1954 and was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie Rickmond and Annie Lorene Wade Compton; niece, Haley Clay; and great-nephews, Michael “Mikey” Arrington and Zachary “Zach” Porter. Surviving are his son, Neil Rickmond (Julie); brothers and sisters, Linda Porter (Joe), Danny Rickmond (Teresa), Michael “Mike” Rickmond (Melanie), Debbie Rickmond, and Tonya Rickmond; numerous nieces and nephews including special niece, Jessica Arrington. Also, all the special friends who he worked with over the years and the roads they traveled for Ray “Doc” showed the way for so many who will carry on the lessons he taught. Ray was a good man with a big heart. He loved nature and animals of all kinds, his family, and Jesus. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2025. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
