James Ronnie Scott, age 79 of Rocky Mount passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at his home. A native of Ferrum, Va., he was born on July 11, 1937 to the late Louvader Bowling Scott and James Ervin Scott. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Meda S. Turner (Darrell); and one brother, Herman Scott. Ronnie was a member of the Waidsboro Ruritan Club and will be long remembered by his carpentry work in Franklin County and surrounding areas. Ronnie’s family and friends will long cherish his love of fishing and music and the sweet easy smile he gave so often and his great love for his granddaughters. Ronnie will be fondly remembered by his wife of 56 years, Annie Adelle Scott; three children, Wanda (Rodney), Kalvin (Teresa), Loretta (Todd); four granddaughters, Whitney, Michaela, Brianne, Chelsie; sister, Lorene Furrow (Glen); sister-in-law, Mae Scott will also cherish his memory; as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 11 a.m. Saturday with Pastor Marco Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to New Life Baptist Church or Relay for Life. Special thanks to Carilion Hospice for their care and concern. His family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
