James Mitchell Saunders

James Mitchell (Mitch) Saunders, age 65 of Moneta passed away Friday, August 26, 2016. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Gayle; and his parents, James and Ione Saunders, South Boston, VA. He is also survived by two sons, Matthew Ryan Saunders (Christy), Philadelphia, PA, and Josh Anderson Saunders (Brooke), Pittsburgh, PA; and a dearly loved granddaughter, Ione Saunders. Mitch enjoyed spending time on Smith Mountain Lake, working in his beautiful yard and listening to music. He enjoyed spending time with his family and watching VA Tech, his alma mater, sporting events. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society. Memorial services will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday at Halesford Baptist Church with Pastor Melvin Harris officiating. His family will receive friends 4-6 p.m. Sunday at Halesford Baptist Church.
