James "Jim" Stanley Gue

James (Jim) Stanley Gue, age 77 of Rocky Mount passed away on October 31, 2018. Mr. Gue was born in Mt Airy, Maryland on July 27, 1941. He is preceded in death by his parents, Willard Miles and Anne Lettierre Gue; his 3 brothers, George, Clyde, and Willard Gue; and his in-laws, Reverend Ennis Howard and Eletha Green Coale. He leaves behind his wife of 58 years, Valerie Coale Gue; and 4 children, James Gue (Cindy), Mary Sumeracki (Jeffrey), Randolph Gue (Jane), Deborah Worley (Douglas); 13 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Shirley Norwood (Charles) and Anne Crawford; 1 brother, Thomas Gue (Judy); and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Gue retired after 24 years of being on the road as a truck driver for Custom Wood Products in Salem, VA. After spending years on the road, he could tell you how to get anywhere and about the many interesting places to stop. When he wasn’t at work he was on the hunt for a good auction, antiques, and the friends he made along the way. His greatest accomplishment in life was his family. He was a proud husband, dad, papa, son and son in-law, and brother. He will continue to live for years to come through his family, as they travel on their roads in life. A memorial service will be held at Flora Funeral Service on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 4 pm with Reverend David Saleeba officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to service.
