James Harvey Woody

James Harvey Woody, age 76 of Rocky Mount passed away Friday, February 4, 2022 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital following a battle with cancer. He was born September 1, 1945 a son of the late Gordon Allie Woody and Dorothy (Perdue) Woody and was also preceded in death by his brother, Gordon Allie Woody, Jr.; sister, Carol Ann (Woody) Cannaday; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Joe Booker Woody and Shirley Houston Woody; fur baby, Susie; sisters-in-law, Donna Rigney Sink and Donna Jones Rigney; and nephew, Gregory Gordon Woody. Surviving are his wife, Carolyn Rigney Woody; son, James “Jamie” Woody, Jr.; fur companion, Roxie; brothers and sisters-in-law, Donnie (Jean) Woody, Larry (Kathy) Woody, Jesse Cannaday, Joey (Tami) Woody, Ronnie Rigney, Andy (Kay) Sink; sister, Judy Woody Young; many nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be private. The family request donations be made to American Cancer Society or Donna Sink Pediatric Fund.
