Janet Cook Carter

Janet Cook Carter, age 81 of Rocky Mount died Wednesday, April 11, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Alice Cook; husband, Herbert E. Carter; son, Paul Edward Carter; brothers, Dennis and Eric Cook; and sister, Beryl Smith. Surviving are her daughter, Donna Ferguson (Kenny); grandchildren, Shawn Paul Ferguson (Asheton), Trenton Carter Ferguson; step-grandchildren, Kevin Ferguson and Kerry Ferguson; step-great-grandchild, Kaileah Ferguson. Mrs. Carter was an active member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church who enjoyed travel and spending time with her grandchildren. A celebration of her life will be held at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2018 with Rev. Jim Rodden and Rev. Liz Lazenby officiating. Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
