Janice Abshire

Janice Abshire, of Boones Mill died Monday evening, March 14, 2011. She was born July 30, 1933 a daughter of the late Dallas and Daisy Burgess Abshire. Janice retired from General Electric in Salem with 33 years service. She graduated from Boones Mill High School and was a lifelong member of Boones Mill Church of the Brethren. She enjoyed sewing for her nieces and nephews, gardening, and watching her flowers grow. Surviving are her sister and brother-in-law, Joetta and Dale Fisher; nieces and nephews, Timothy and Mary Fisher of Callaway, David Fisher of Hardy, Kathy and Benji Brown of Glade Hill; great-nieces, Stephanie and Ashley Fisher, Daisy Brown; and great-nephew, Ryan Brown. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 11 a.m. Friday with Pastor Robert Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
