Janie Bowman Flora

Janie Bowman Flora, age 82 of Boones Mill, passed away, Sunday, April 26, 2015 at her residence. She was born May 24, 1932 a daughter of the late Leon Henry Bowman and Eulalia Boone Bowman Jamison. She was also preceded in death by her step-father, Levi Jamison and sister, Doris Foster. Surviving are her husband of 66 years, David Cornelius Flora, her children, Gary Dewayne Flora (Linda), Debbie Flora Altice (Barry), Van Leslie Flora and fiancé, Bridgette Blankenship; grandchildren, Michael Flora (Faith), Justin Altice (Marcie), Karen Stutzman (Paul), Caleb Flora and Patricia Flora; two step-grandchildren, great- grandchildren, Jonah Flora, Kaylee Stutzman, Joshua Stutzman, Grayson Altice and Caitlyn Altice. Janie was a loving homemaker who always put others before herself. She was faithful to care for her parents and her in-laws until their passing. She was a member of Germantown Brick Church of the Brethren and loved her time with them and appreciated their outreach to her when she was unable to participate. She had many friends and treasured time spent together. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Germantown Brick Church of the Brethren with Pastor Bruce Huffman and Rev. Paul Stutzman officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
