Jay Lee Hudson, age 85 of Ferrum, VA, died Tuesday, February 16, 2016, from injuries received in an accident two weeks ago. He was predeceased by his wife, Marie Wright Hudson; and five sisters, Dot, Frances, Jennie, Bonnie, and Juanita. He is survived by two daughters, Brenda Hunt, and Rhonda Armentrout and her husband, Mike; and three granddaughters, Tiffany Armentrout (Drew Nauer), Heidi Matherly (Greg), and Holly Hunt (Ronnie Lynch); and one great-grandson, Hudson Hunt Matherly. He is also survived by a special friend, Eunice King. He is also survived by brothers-in-law, Lane Richardson, B.W. Wright, Jr., and Maynard McDaniel; and sisters-in-law, Ruth Nichols, Shirley Wright, and Brenda Wright; and many special nieces, nephews, and a special cousin, Jean Spencer, and special friend, Lloyd "Pug" Bridges. Per his request, only a graveside service will be held at Maple Grove Methodist Church Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. Friday. There will be a viewing 30 minutes prior to the service for family members, and the family will receive friends immediately after the service in the Maple Grove Fellowship Hall.
