Jean Cox

Jean Cox, age 77 of Hardy, Virginia and formerly of Los Alamitos, California died Friday, May 2, 2008. She was born October 11, 1930 in Rocky Mount, Virginia and lived in California until 1995. She was preceded in death by her husband Judge Phillip E. Cox. Mrs. Cox is survived by her daughter, Teresia McCollister of Ontario, California and her children, Stephanie, Thomas and Sean; her son and daughter-in-law, Phillip E. (Sandy), Jr. and Laura Cox of Rochester Hills, Michigan and their children, Casey, Steven and Daniel; sisters, Helen Turner, Hardy, Virginia and Hazel Holder, Farquay-Varina, North Carolina; brother-in-law, James A. Scott, Roanoke, Virginia. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 10 a.m. Friday, May 9, 2008. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Cox’s name to Trinity Ecumenical Parish, Memorial Fund, 40 Lakemount Drive, Moneta, Virginia 24121. Her family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount, Virginia 24151.
