Jean Wright Roberts

Jean Wright Roberts, age 93 of Penhook, passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Irene Wright; children, Nancy Ridgeway Martin and Dale Mitchell Ridgeway; sister, Margaret Overstreet Roach; beloved pets, Princess and Katie. Surviving are her daughter, Michelle Lee Ridgeway; grandchildren, Cherie Pedigo Pugh (Steve), Ryan Mitchell Wood (Vee), Heather Ridgeway Brooks (Brian), Joshua Andrew Ridgeway (Melinda); great-grandchildren, Annah Pugh, Melina Wood, Sophie Brown, Ellie Brown and Hadley Ridgeway. Jean was a loving mother and grandmother who was kind hearted and loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed going to church, being near the lake, and loved being a part of the garden club in the Smith Mountain Lake community. A graveside service will be held at Mountain View Cemetery (Vinton), 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2023 with Pastor Mark Long officiating.
