Jeanette Julia "Judy" Hodges Bussey

Jeanette Julia “Judy” Hodges Bussey, age 85 of Rocky Mount, passed away Thursday, November 11, 2021. She was born November 1, 1936 to the late Tony and Daisy Hodges in Rocky Mount, Va. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, Rabon “Tink” Bussey; sisters, Peggy Morris and Mary Tuttle. She is survived by her loving sons, Rabon Bussey Jr. (Caryn) and Mark Bussey (Karen); four granddaughters, Elizabeth Bussey, Olivia Bussey, Kathryn Mason, and Olivia Mason; one grandson, Bennett Bussey; sisters, Audrey Reece, Carmen Patrick, Pat Martin (Dave), and Donna Mitchell; brothers, Tony “Buzzy” Hodges Jr., Ron Hodges (Peggy) and numerous nieces and nephews. Judy was a strong Christian and forever devoted to her husband, sons, and grandchildren. The family wishes to remember and thank Patty and Larry Toler as well as the staff of Red Oak Manor for their love and care for Judy while she resided there. Funeral services will be conducted at Flora Funeral Chapel, 3:00 p.m. Monday, November 15, 2021 with Chaplain Rick Poland officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (3959 Electric Rd Ste 357, Roanoke, VA 24018).
