Jeanette Dudley Sledd

Irma Jeanette Dudley Sledd, age 88 of Callaway went to be with the Lord and her beloved Pete on Tuesday, November 9, 2021. Jeanette was born on July 4, 1933 and loved to celebrate her birthday with her family and fireworks. She leaves behind a loving family of sons, Roger (Ann) and Gary (Diane); grandchildren, Decon (Amber) and AnnKate (Nick); great-grandchildren, Lila and Eslie; step-grandchildren, Mitch, Chelsea and Clint Custer; siblings, Wayne (Susan) Dudley and Lavern Marshall; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Pete; sister, Geraldine Kiester; and parents, Dewitt and Rachel Webb Dudley.

Jeanette was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and an active member of the Callaway community. She shared her gifts by leading others in their faith as a Sunday School teacher and was faithful member of the Highland United Methodist Church. She was a light in the lives of so many and will be dearly missed.

A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, November 12, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. with a visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. at Flora Funeral Service in Rocky Mount. Jeanette will be laid to rest on the Sledd farm with a private family burial. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Jeanette's memory to the Callaway Fire and Rescue at P.O.
