Jearl Clay Dillon, Sr. 63 years of age, of Rocky Mount VA, departed this life on Sunday, December 21, 2014 after a second battle of cancer. Jearl was the son of the late William Peary Dillon and Christine V. Arrington Dillon of Wirtz VA. Jearl was also preceded in death by his late wife, Shelby Jean Dillon; brother, Garland Dillon; brother-in-law, Jimmy Hodges; sister-in-law, Frances Dillon; and niece, Donna Cash. Jearl has worked in management and or trucking all his life. Jearl (AKA) Salty dog and (Jerry) was a transportation driver for Ply Gem Windows. Jearl is survived by his partner and wife of 19 years, Emily Sue (Gauldin) Dillon of the home. Emily?s daughters and grandchildren, Christy Gauldin, of Clearwater, FL, and her children, Angelica Vasquez of Orlando, FL and Nikolas Rosello of Tampa, FL, Brandy Gauldin of Rocky Mount, and her children, Isaac Gauldin and Bray Gauldin; Jearl' s daughters, Jackie and Mark of King George, VA, and their children, Eric, Stefan, Tre, and Angela (K.C.) of Wirtz; Jearl?s sons, Jearl JR and Wendy of Roanoke and their children, KateLeigh, Clay, Jacob, Gabe, and Jay Willard of Pittsburgh, PA and children, Lutessa; brother, Wayne Dillon of Glade Hill; sisters, Gladys Flora (Earle) of Rocky Mount, Mary McCall (Eddie) of Wirtz, Phyllis Hodges of Wirtz, Dean Dudley (Doug) of Rocky Mount, Edith Jean Dillon of Wirtz, Darlene Wright (Coy) of Penhook, Star Wade of Rocky Mount, Roxie Harvey (Richard) of Wirtz; brother-in-law, Kenny Perdue (Pam) of Rocky Mount; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Walston (Mike) of Roanoke, Brenda Kendrick (Jerry) of Rocky Mount, Ruby Dillon of Rocky Mount; numerous nieces and nephews. The family requests no food, and in lieu of flowers please donate to Carilion Hospice, The Homeless Shelter or the Rescue Mission in Roanoke. Funeral services will be conducted from Rocky Mount Church of God 11 a.m. Saturday with Rev. Ron Hill and Rev. Denver Turner officiating. Interment will follow in Round Hill Cemetery.
