Jenesta M. Obenshain

Jenesta M. Obenshain, age 91 of Wirtz peacefully passed away with her daughters by her side Saturday, April 21, 2018 from complications due to a fall. She was a member of Crafts United Methodist Church in Glade Hill. Born and raised in Botetourt County, Jenesta was a true southern lady. She was an artist, writer and lover of nature and all of God’s creatures. For many years she was employed by JC Penneys and Sam’s Club. She was preceded in death by her husband Rucian of 70 years. Jenesta leaves behind one son, R. Glenn Obenshain (Sandy), two daughters, June Obenshain and Peggy Wuergler (Barry) and her beloved cat, Sam. Her family would like to express special thanks to her caregivers Joyce Jones and Alisa Bostic for their love and devotion. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her name to a charity of your choice. Funeral services will be conducted at Flora Funeral Chapel, 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2018 with Rev. Betty Marshall officiating. Private interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
