Jesse Anderson

J.B. Anderson, age 71 of Rocky Mount, died Wednesday, September 3, 2014 with his family at his side. JB worked at JP Stevens where he retired and then worked at Flowers by Jones where he loved delivering flowers to places with a smile. JB never met a stranger. He loved his garden, yard and family. He was born March 22, 1943, a son of the late Jesse Anderson and Mamie Hunt Anderson. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Frances D. Bigney. Surviving are his soul mate of 35 years, (Sug) Jean ; daughters, Tina Hartman (Benjamin) , his caretaker, Rena Muscat (Norman); son, Jesse (Kelly), also Neil (Penny) and Pam, 12 grandchildren; eight great- grandchildren; his friend Penny Hartman and mother-in-law Louise Hodges; brother, Carl (Carol); sisters, Gail Hutcherson, Lisa Hodges (Steve); many nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. Thanks to all who did their part helping JB and doing things for him with his cancer including Heather, Muse, Penny, Lisa and many more. He loved them all. Funeral services will be conducted at Flora Funeral Chapel , 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 6, 2014 with Rev. Michael Stump officiating. Interment will follow in Anderson Family Cemetery. His family will receive friends one hour prior to service and other times at the home, 729 Altice Mill Road, Rocky Mount. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
