Jesse Wayne Deshazo

Jesse Wayne DeShazo, age 75 of Rocky Mount passed away Thursday, July 17, 2025 with his family by his side. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse DeShazo and Pauline Moore; daughter, Myeisha Marie Wright; and his sister, Wanda Lee DeShazo. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Patsy Wright DeShazo; children, Jesse Maurice (Natalie) DeShazo, Tiwianna (Kenny) Hairston, Aubrey Wright, Tony (Casey) Wright and Jamie Wright (Melanie); grandchildren, Darius Lane, Fadre Price, Aiden Hylton, Dominic Wright, Kendra Hairston, Emma Hylton, Levi DeShazo, Brynlee Wright, Kaeden Wright and Stella DeShazo; great-granddaughter, Ivy Price; aunt, Christine McAlister; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Jesse was a great husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved playing cards and was a jokester, always making people laugh. Funeral services will be held at Faith Fellowship Church 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, 2025. Interment will follow in Byrd View Cemetery. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Viewing will be held 2-4 p.m. on Monday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
