Jesse Shelburn Doyle, age 95 of the Snow Creek community of Franklin County went home, to be with Jesus and his family already gone Saturday, March 30, 2013. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years Edna Chitwood Doyle, son, Walter Vernon Doyle; daughter, Carolyn Doyle Cobler. Jesse loved the Lord, Life, Baseball, Bluegrass “Spiritual” music and “Hoppin’ Polka”. At 92 years old he won the 2009 Franklin County Hotdog Festival Flatfooting Championship. He loved the Thursday Dairy Queen family. Jesse was a long time member of Snow Creek Christian Church, a member of the Snow Creek Rescue Squad board along with being on other boards and committees. He worked at Stanley Furniture, American Furniture, traded timber, raised tobacco and beef cattle. His biggest job, along with Edna was raising their “5 Chaps”, some nephews and grandkids. Jesse taught his family the meaning of integrity and the importance of honesty and for this we will be eternally grateful. “Every day the rest of our lives we will Thank God for our Parents and Grandparents, Jesse and Edna Doyle.” Surviving is his three sons and their wives, Ronald (Aileen) Doyle, Jimmie (Vivian) Doyle and Michael (Pam) Doyle; brother, Wendell Doyle; 31 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday at Snow Creek Christian Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. His family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Snow Creek Christian Church.
