Jesse Linwood Owen

Jesse Linwood Owen, of Boones Mill, Va., passed away on Friday morning, June 12, 2015, at his home surrounded by family. He was born on September 22, 1955, in Buchanan, Va. He was proceeded in death by his father, Jesse Owen; sister, Betsy Helms; brother, Raymond Owen.
He is survived by his mother, Ruby M. Owen of Buchanan; wife of 36 years, Becky Vest Owen; son, Jonathan Owen and wife, Heather, of Rocky Mount; daughter Jessica Thompson and husband Michael, of Wirtz; sister, Rebecca Morris of Buchanan; grandchildren, Kaylee, Emily, Korie, Kadence and Fintan; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; as well as extended family in Botetourt County, Va.
Jesse graduated from James River High School in the Class of 1975. He worked at Aerospace Testing Corporation for 35 years as a co-owner. He enjoyed growing vegetables, fishing, hunting and spending time with family. He had a heart for helping anyone who needed a helping hand.
A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at Rocky Mount Baptist Church on Monday, June 15, 2015 at 4:00 pm. with Pastor Jeff Robinson officiating. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Good Samaritan Hospice. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
