Jessie Gardner Mullins, age 85 of Rocky Mount died Sunday, February 6, 2005.
She was a faithful member of Fork Mountain United Methodist Church, and was retired from Tultex in Martinsville. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and friend to all. She was born February 4, 1920, a daughter of the late John and Vera McGhee Gardner. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Horace Mullins.
Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Royal and Hope Mullins, Reidsville, NC, Gerald and Pat Mullins, Rocky Mount, and Larris Mullins, Lumberton, NC; her grandchildren, Jeffery Mullins, Whitney Mullins, Kendall Mullins, Holli Chaney, Ryan Shropshire, Brett Mullins, Adam Mullins, and Greg Mullins; 4 great-grandchildren; special family members, Phillip Young and Matt Little; brother and sister-in-law, Ivan and Lena Gardner, Rocky Mount; sister and brother-in-law, Fannie Jane and Wayne Young, Rocky Mount; several nieces and nephews; beloved pet, Shasha.
Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2:00 p.m. Tuesday with Pastor Sarah Whitmore officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions be made to Fork Mountain United Methodist Church Building Fund c/o Norman Powell 149 Briar Ridge Road, Henry, VA 24102. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Monday at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount.
