Jim Reed Sink

Jim Reed Sink, age 95 of Wirtz, Va. passed away on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Edna Sink; son-in-law, David Douthat; great-grandson, David Ray Douthat; brothers, Alfred Sink, Paul Sink, Wilsie Sink, George Sink and Johnnie Sink; sisters, Maude and Roxie Sink, Cornelia Sumpter and Melva Watson. He is survived by his daughter, Mary Sink Douthat; grandson, Michael Douthat and grandson, Christopher Douthat who will be missing five years in October; along with many nieces and nephews. He worked as a supervisor at N&W Railway until his retirement and served his country in the U.S. Army. The family request no food. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Monday August 13, 2018 at Flora Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Susan E. Bentley officiating. Interment will follow in Old Liberty Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
