Jimmie Ronald Brown, age 66 of Ferrum went to be with the Lord Friday, April 17, 2009 after he endured a courageous battle of declining health for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Stella Young Brown; and daughter, Kimberly Brown.
Surviving are his wife, Alberta Brown; children, Kathy Brown (J. Price), Dean Brown (Pam); step-children, Brenda Layman (Kenneth), Debra Patterson (Ken), Karen Lawrence (Duane); grandchildren, Mattie and Hunter Brown; four step-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren; sisters, Phyllis Brown (David), Shirley Young (Frank), Jennifer Richardson (Logan); many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted from Maple Grove United Methodist Church 3 p.m. Sunday with Rev. Winston Crichlow officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery.
His family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
