Jimmy Lee Guilliams, of Boones Mill passed away at the age of 80 in his home surrounded by his family on Thursday, February 9, 2017. He was a hard-working man who retired from Hancock Steel with 35 years of service. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Bowles Guilliams of 55 years; parents, Walter Lee and Abbie Guilliams; in-laws, Walter and Lottie Bowles; sisters, Doris Clingenpeel, Margaret Holt; and his brother, Billy Guilliams. Surviving are his children, Gary (Darlene) Guilliams; Deborah (Robert) Webster, Kathy Guilliams, Patty (Mick) Snyder; Sheila (John) Hall; brother, Doug (Kitten); sisters, Liz (JP) Bowles, Elsie Bowles; sisters-in-law, Abby Guilliams, Edna Bowles, Shirley Bowles; brother-in-law, Milton Bowles (Irene); several nieces and nephews; grandchildren, Nicole Minnix (Robert), April Mullins (Tim), Ashley Stanley (Bobby), Bradley Stanley (Shelly), Mark Overfelt (Mary), Matthew Overfelt; grandchildren, Scott, Sean and Trevor Bennett, Jonathan Hall (Samantha), Tabatha Chitwood; great-grandchildren, Katlyn, Alex, Logan, Landon, Ashlyn, Autum, Luke, Carly, Jordyn; and his special pets, Emma, Honey, Oreo, Bella and Charley. Special thanks to Good Samaritan Hospice and all the friends that came to visit. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Fairmont Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 1669 Bethlehem Road, Boones Mill, Virginia 24065. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Sunday with Rev. Ray Bayse officiating. Interment will follow in Fairmont Baptist Church Cemetery. His family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Saturday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
