Joan Haley Easley, age 71 went to her heavenly home on April 26, 2017. She was a mother that loved unconditionally always putting her family first. She was a proud granny who loved to spend time with her grandchildren. She had a feisty but yet caring spirit. We will cherish these memories of her forever in our hearts. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Guy Easley; her parents, Calvin and Emery Weatherford and her sister, Nannie Verlene Dalton. Surviving are her daughter, Hope Easley Montgomery (Steven) and her four grandchildren, Luke Montgomery, Jacob Montgomery, Andrew Montgomery and Joshua Montgomery. One sister, Carol W. Grosnell (Bill) and three brothers, Ben Haley, Wayne Haley and Eddie Weatherford, a special niece, Robin Forry and many other friends and family who loved her with all of their heart. She was a member of Cools Springs Christian Church, where in the past she served as a deacon and sang in the choir. She very much enjoyed reading the Bible, spending time with her family, working crossword puzzles and helping others when she was able. There is a hole in our hearts but we can rest assure she is in the arms of our Savior, Jesus Christ. A funeral service honoring her life will be held at Cool Springs Christian Church at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 29, 2017 with Pastor Derrick Layman officiating. Interment will follow in Hollywood Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, April 28, 2017 from 6 – 8 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
