Joan Marie Smith

Joan Marie Smith, age 74 of Rocky Mount passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Trinity Mission where she had been a resident for the past few years. She was born November 3, 1942 in New York State, the daughter of the late Richard and Marjorie Mor­gan. She received her RN degree from State University if New York and was also a graduate of Buffalo Bible Institute. She is survived by her husband, David E. Smith; son, David Brian Smith and wife Meredith; grand­children, Taylor Jean and Jacob Smith. Other survivors include brothers, Thomas Morgan, Richard and wife Bea, Donald and wife Joyce; along with nieces and nephews. Joan was a member of Living Waters Assembly of God. A celebration of her life will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, February 5, 2017 at Living Waters Assembly of God, 34 Honeywood Lane, Rocky Mount, with Rev. Roger Jones and Rev. Mary White officiating. Flowers gratefully declined, but memorials sent to Living Waters Assembly of God, P.O. Box 239, Rocky Mount, Virginia 24151. Special thanks to the staff of Trinity Mission for the care given to Joan.
