Joann Broughman

JoAnn Powell Broughman, age 74 of Martinsville, passed away on Friday, July 28, 2017. JoAnn was born in Penhook, Virginia on January 4, 1943 to Phillip and Frances Powell. She was retired from National Homes. JoAnn is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Sheila and Garth Harris, Phyllis and Jeff Roark; one son and daughter-in-law, Venton and Christina Davis; four sisters, Barbara Dudley, Hilda Kerrick, Patsy Cumby (Tom), Debbie (Russ); one brother, Billy Powell; six grandchildren, Brittany Draper, Brandon Pov, Destany Davis, Logan Roark, Caroline Hylton and Austin Webb. She also had one great-granddaughter, Ayleigh Gross. JoAnn had numerous nieces and nephews that she adored and spent time with. JoAnn was preceded in death by her son, Carl Davis; three siblings, Vivian Bradner, Dixie Anderson and Julian Powell; and a special friend; James Blankenship. The family of JoAnn Broughman wishes to thank Roanoke Memorial Hospital for providing great care and support for her and her family. Funeral services will be held at Stone Memorial Christian Church 2 p.m. Monday with Pastor Tim Wood of Stone Memorial Christian Church officiating. Burial will follow the funeral at Henry Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 30, 2017 at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
