Joann Montgomery Reed

Joann Montgomery Reed, 72, of Roanoke passed away suddenly at home on February 15, 2019. She was born September 15, 1946 to the late Christian and Ethelene Peters Montgomery. She was also preceded in death by her father-in-law, Harold Reed, Sr., brother-in-law William “Bill” Cassell and great granddaughter, Cami Ann Wray. Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 52 years, Harold “Butch” Reed, Jr., her children Tim and Sallie Reed of Roanoke, Lynette and Miles Shuck of Ottawa, Kansas, Ted and Gina Reed of Pilot, Jay and Gentry Reed of Callaway, and Dana and Clinton Wagoner of Roanoke, her grandchildren, Tyler and Sabrina Reed, Shelley and Norman Mahin, Carrie and Garret Filbrun, Heidi Jo and Ward Wray, Cheyenne and Darren Barton, Travis Reed, Britton Shuck, Taylor and Rachel Reed, Kirsten and Blake Jamison, Kate Reed, Brett Reed, Ginny Reed, Cassie Reed, Owen Wagoner, Jake Reed, Coby Wagoner, and Nick Reed; great- grandchildren, Allison, Leanna, and Deborah Mahin, Emmi Filbrun, Cline and Charlie Wray, and Ivy and Noah Barton; sisters, Clara Garman, Bonnie Cassell and Louise Jamison (Merle); mother-in-law, Lucy Reed. A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Peters Creek Old German Baptist Brethren Church (7645 Wood Haven Rd., Roanoke, VA 24019). Her family will receive friends on Sunday, February 17, 2019 from 5 to 8 p.m. and Monday, February 18, 2019 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the church. Interment will follow in the Brubaker Cemetery. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
