JoAnn Whitney Rice, age 57 of Wirtz died Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at her home.
She was born August 12, 1949, a daughter of the late Dr. Alvin and Blanche Rice.
She is survived by her son C.W. Cooper; her daughter and son-in-law Dardie and Tom Ritchie; her grandchildren, Lauren Whitney Cooper, Autumn Nicole Cooper, Nicholas Cooper and Daniel, Haley Ritchie and Allison Ritchie; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Linda Rice; niece Whitney Rice; nephew Bryan Rice; special friends, Liz and Nicole.
The family would like to express a very special thanks to Dori Scholfield, Sam Rakes, the Hospice Team and her Rocky Mount Church of God family where she attended with her granddaughters Lauren and Autumn.
Funeral services will be conducted from Rocky Mount Church of God 2 p.m. Friday with Pastor Travis Gore and Rev. Sam Rakes officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park.
Her family will receive friends Thursday from 6 – 8 p.m. at Rocky Mount Church of God. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service, Rocky Mount.
