Joanne D. Mason

Joanne D. Mason, age 89 of Glade Hill died Sunday, February 12, 2023, at Franklin Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born August 4 ^th , 1933, in Union Hall, the daughter of Fred H. Dudley and Melva (Blankenship) Dudley. She was also preceded in death by her sons, Joseph Gayle Mason, and Michael Stephen Mason.

Joanne worked at DuPont in Martinsville for 30+ years. She was a hardworking and devoted mother to her four sons, and in her later years a loving caregiver to all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved NASCAR and was a huge Richard Petty fan. Joanne was an active member of Crafts United Methodist Church for most of her life.

Joanne is survived by her sons, James (Allen) Mason and his wife, Deborah, and David Mason and his wife, Deanna; five grandchildren, Stefanie Bernard-Mason, Michael Mason II (Leslie), Daryl Mason, Tessa Lowman (Austin), Joseph Mason; and her sister, Judy Dudley. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and several cousins.

A memorial service will be conducted from Crafts Church 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 25, 2023 with Pastor Kay Barstow Gentry officiating. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
