Joel Reese Prillaman, age 75 of Rocky Mount died Sunday, November 4, 2007.
He was born August 24, 1932 a son of the late Blanford Isaac and Robbie Dodson Prillaman.
He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force serving from 1952 through 1956.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Max Randall Prillaman; father-in-law Charlie J. Hodges; and his mother-in-law Luci Ida Hodges.
Surviving are his loving wife of 50 years, Loretta Hodges Prillaman; sons and daughters-in-law, Edison Reece Prillaman, Rocky Mount, Wesley and Dee Prillaman, South Carolina, Steven and Missy Prillaman, Henry; his grandchildren, Amanda, Benjamin, Forrest, Owen, Kenner and Kasey; sister-in-law Doris Prillaman; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Margie and Bill Freeman, Altavista, Elizabeth Overstreet, Dorothy Walker, Rocky Mount, Walter Hodges, Danville, Clyde Hodges and Junior Hodges, Rocky Mount, Jack Hodges, Albuquerque, New Mexico and Nadiene King, Akron, Ohio; former daughter-in-law Lendy Prillaman; numerous nieces and nephews.
He is also survived by his numerous friends at the McDonalds Morning Club and his co-workers at the “Shack”.
Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel, 2 p.m. Wednesday with Rev. Joe Dillon officiating.
Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park.
The family will accept flowers or memorial contributions may be made to Sandy Ridge Baptist Church Building Fund, 1444 Bonbrook Mill Road, Rocky Mount, Virginia 24151.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. Tuesday with his family receiving friends from 5 to 8 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount.
