John "Wayne" Boitnott

John “Wayne” Boitnott, age 86 of Boones Mill died Sunday, September 21, 2025 at home surrounded by his family. He was born January 3, 1939 a son of the late John Henry Boitnott and Hilda Saul Boitnott. Wayne began his career in Radio Sales with WDBJ Radio and retired with WFIR Radio following 42 years of service. He loved the outdoors and never met a stranger but most importantly loved his family the most. Surviving are his wife, Laura Boitnott; sons, Brandol (Karen), Dean (Cherri), Todd (Ashley); grandchildren, Stefen (Tayler), Alex, Jacob (Amber), Jeremy and Harper; and two great-grandchildren, Nash and Silas.
