John Amos Bussey

John Amos Bussey, 70 of Rocky Mount passed away at home Friday, July 27, 2018. He was born September 4, 1947, the son of Charlie A. Bussey, Jr. and Virginia Hylton Bussey. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jeffery Dean Bussey (infant); two brothers, David Bussey and Arthur Bussey; and mother-in-law Sally W. Cundiff. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sylvia Cundiff Bussey; son, Darin S. Bussey (Susan); granddaughter, Kelsi A. Medders (Cameron); grandson, Dean Amos Bussey (fiancé, Shelby Knighten); two great-grand­daughters, Alex Denise and Scarlett Lidia Medders all of Eagle River, Alaska; two sisters, Martha Montgomery (Gerald) and Ruth Cupp (Ted). John was proud to have served his country in the 2 ^nd Battalion, 1 ^st Marine in Vietnam. The family request in lieu of flowers, if you would like to donate to a project close to your heart. A Celebration of Life will be Sunday, August 5, 2018 at the Fairview Church of the Brethren. Family will receive friends at 2:00 p.m. with the Celebration of Life at 3:00 p.m. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
