JOHN WILLIAM
John W. (Bill) Cassell, 76 of Wirtz, passed away Saturday, October 23, 2010. He was born July 30, 1934, son of the late Roy B. and Grace W. Cassell. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Thelma Palmer and Virginia Lovell; and a brother, Thomas Cassell. Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Bonnie M. Cassell; sons William L. Cassell and wife Rujing of Richmond, and Joel W. Cassell of Arlington; two sisters, Pauline Long of Harrisonburg, and Julia Frith of Rocky Mount; sister-in-law Drucille R. Cassell, also several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from Oak Hill Old German Baptist Brethren Church 10 am Monday, October 25, 2010 with the Home Brethren officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Red Valley Rescue Squad, 2885 Jubal Early Hwy, Boones Mill, VA 24065. The family extends special thanks to the staff at Franklin County Dialysis Center and his doctors. Also the staff at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital for their care and concern. His family will be receiving friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 pm on Sunday at Oak Hill Church (three miles north of Burnt Chimney on Route 116).
