John D. Clifft

John D. Clifft, Sr, age 68 of Rocky Mount, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 1, 2007. Mr. Clifft was retired from the US Navy with 31 years of service as a CW04 with the Navy Security Group Headquarters. Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Gloria Clifft; children, Cynthia Clifft Dopp and husband Bryant, Suzanne Clifft Yopp and husband Teddy; John D. Clifft, Jr. and wife Heather; six grandchildren, Casey Lynn Yopp, Brennan William Dopp, Connor Patrick Dopp, Morgan Elizabeth Yopp, William Reed Yopp, Christopher Thomas Dopp; two brothers, Leonard Ray Clifft, Jr, Thomas Clifft; one sister, Charlotte Pickett. Memorial services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 11 a.m. Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the local food bank. His family will be receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount.
