John "Johnny" Deuryce Barker

John “Johnny” Deuryce Barker, age 72 of Martinsville, passed away Friday, February 28, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Irene Griffith Barker; and brother, Roger Barker. Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Linda Hankins Barker; son, John D. Barker Jr. (Vanessa); grandchildren, Karli, Lucas, Adalyn and Alexander; three sisters, Joann Lillard (Herman), Mary Stone (Randy) and Vicki Barnes; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Johnny was a U.S. Army veteran. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and model airplanes. A graveside service will be held at Blackberry Church Cemetery, 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2025. His family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. Monday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
