John Douglas "Doug" Love

John Douglas “Doug” Love, 86, of Collinsville, VA passed away Friday, June 9, 2023 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born March 28, 1937 a son of the late George C. and Mary Brown Love and was preceded in death by his wife, Coralea Morris Love.

Doug worked in construction most of his life and was the owner of Love Construction Company for over 30 years. He was an excellent craftsman and took great pride in his work.  Doug was also a member of Fort Trial Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, choir member and took part in several mission trips.

Surviving are his children, Susie and Danny Moore of Harrison, TN, Fredona Aaron of Collinsville, VA, Kim and Scott Schenkel of Los Gatos, CA; grandchildren, Jonathan Aaron, Dylan Moore, Jessica Aaron, Logan Moore, Christian Schenkel, Aiden Schenkel; great-grandchildren, Lilly and Cora Gardner, Connor and Finley Moore, and Ezra Moore; brother, Randy and Tina Love; and brother-in-law, Ben Morris and wife Peggy.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at 1 p.m. at Fort Trial Baptist Church, Stanleytown, VA with Dr. Joey McNeil and Tony Beach officiating. Burial will be at Franklin Memorial Park in Rocky Mount, VA following the service. The family will receive friends prior to the funeral service from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. at the church.
