John J. Everidge

John Everidge, age 75 of Rocky Mount, passed away on Monday, October 9, 2023. Ever the contemplative soul, he loved gazing at the stars and pondering the universe. He was also quite artistic and enjoyed painting mountain and forest scenes. Endlessly fascinated by the paranormal, he spent countless hours researching the existence of UFOs and Bigfoot. John dutifully served his country as a Marine during the Vietnam War, and after the war, he worked for over 20 years at the Beechnut Baby Food facility in Canajoharie, NY.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Cecilia and Walter Everidge of Sharon Springs, NY and his sister Elizabeth Halsdorf of Argusville, NY.

He is survived by his sister Margie Countryman of Sharon Springs, NY; daughter Jennifer Barger (Chris); granddaughter Bradley Barger; daughter Judith Everidge (William); and special friends Frank and Kathy Palmeri and Nicole and Holly Tauber.

At John’s request, there was no funeral or memorial service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Disabled American Veterans Association.
