John Fuller Hudson, age 82 of Redwood died Monday May 4, 2009, at the V.A. Medical Center. John was a very loving husband, father and grandfather who will be missed more than words can say. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, and was preceded in death by his wife Gertrude Elizabeth Arrington Hudson in 2006, a son Jerry Fuller Hudson in 1998, a daughter Tina Vickie Bowles in 2002 also a daughter-in-law Carol Hudson. He is survived by his son Edward R. Hudson and daughter-in-law Janet Hudson of Rocky Mount. His daughters and son-in-law Wren and Tony L. Boyd of Ferrum, Tina Hudson of Rocky Mount, one very special grandson John (Billy) Davis and wife Cindy and grandchildren Tony L. Boyd Jr., John Boyd, Hannah Boyd, Seth Boyd and Wendy Hudson, and a special great grandson he raised, Jonathan Wimmer and great-grandchildren Joshua Spencer, Nicole Hudson, Brandon Boyd, Beth Ann Boyd, ReFe Boyd. Special nieces Doris Hambrick Bowles and Gladys “Redale” Flora. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2:00 p.m. Thursday with Rev. Bud Nichols officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park.
