John Charles Nieberlein

John Charles Nieberlein, age 81 of Rocky Mount, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 5, 2021. He was preceded in death by his father, John H. Nieberlein; mother, Emma M. Jacoby Nieberlein and brother, George Carl Nieberlein Sr. Surviving are his wife, Laura M. Nieberlein; children, Sean Matthew Nieberlein, Jason Andrew Nieberlein, and Kristen Rae Nieberlein; Venessa L. Rutrough and Jason E. Rutrough (Kathy); nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Charlotte Idleman (Ray) and Kathleen Dunn; sister-in-law, Hilda Moran; brother-in-law, H.D. Moran (Tina); numerous nieces and nephews. John was a United States Navy veteran who served as a ship fitter. He was a devout Christian and a loving father, grandfather, and husband. John was kind and generous to others with his time and many talents. His hobbies included wood working and traveling along with being an avid bicyclist, owning his own bicycle tour business. Funeral services will be conducted at Henry Fork Church of the Brethren, 3:00 p.m. Friday, May 7, 2021 with Pastor Ron Coleman officiating. His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. John’s request was to be buried at sea. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
