John Lewis Rutrough

John Lewis Rutrough, age 72 of Rocky Mount passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 26, 2011. He was born May 2, 1939 a son of the late Charlie W. and Janie Austin Rutrough. He was also preceded in death by his infant daughter, Linda Sue; brother, Lester; sister, Ann; and brother-in-law, Marvin Metzger; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Levi and Grace Metzger. Surviving are his loving companion, Maxine; daughter, Barbara “BJ” Angle and husband Mark; two sons, Robert Rutrough and wife Freda, Ronald Rutrough and wife Melinda; 10 grandchildren, four brothers and sisters-in-law, William and Darlene, Donald and Ann, Glenn and Peggy, Charlie, Jr. and Gail; two sisters-in-law, Bonnie Lily and June Metzger; brother-in-law, Dennis Blankenship; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at the Mountain View Old German Baptist Brethren Meetinghouse 10 a.m. Sunday with the Home Brethren officiating. Interment will follow in the Rutrough Family Cemetery. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for all the loving prayers, concerns and support through Dad’s illness. The family requests that flowers be omitted and donations can be made to a favorite charity. His family will receive friends 6-9 p.m. Friday and 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. Saturday at Mountain View Meetinghouse. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
