John Anton Schaible, Iii

John Anton Schaible III, age 80 of Moneta/Smith Mountain Lake passed away Monday, January 5, 2015 at his residence. He was born October 28, 1934 in East Orange, New Jersey, the first son of John A. and Virginia Schaible. He graduated West Orange High School in 1952, attended Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. John worked for Schaible Oil in Springfield, NJ and retired from the family business as President after 20 years. He worked for 18 years as a territorial sales manager of Protech, Linden, NJ until 1994. He retired to Smith Mountain Lake, VA with his wife, Irene of 59 years. John was a member of Springfield, NJ Lions Club for 18 years and also a member of the Antique and Classic Boat Society at Smith Mountain Lake. In addition to his wife, he leaves to cherish his memory four children, Diane Rosamilia, Sullivans Island, SC, John A. Schaible, Lebanon, NJ, Russell H. Schaible of Charleston SC, Dr. James Schaible of Wirtz, Richard Schaible (deceased) of Scotch Plains, NJ, also nine grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations to either the Shriner?s Children?s Hospital or St. Jude?s Hospital would be appreciated. His family will receive friends 5:30-7:00 p.m. Thursday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount, and on Saturday, 10-11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery Mausoleum, Basking Ridge, NJ.
